… must come to an end
Well it’s been almost five and a half months since I last put any new content on this site. Producing 22 podcast episodes was a lot of fun and I learned a lot doing it. Both about podcasting and about myself.
So What Happened To Me?
Basically Murphy’s Law happened. Around the 1st of October of last year I got sick in the worst way for a podcaster. I developed a really bad sore throat that lasted for a couple of weeks and even when it was gone it left me sounding funny and if I talked for too long would still bother me. On top of that, my day job suddenly got super busy. Then the icing on the cake was that my wife and I started having some major issues with our second oldest son.
To make a long story short, three years ago my wife and I adopted three boys … all at once. We adopted them from the foster system here in Texas. They are three brothers, who’s ages ranged from 2 to 8 at the time we adopted them. Things had been going fairly smoothly with all of them. Then around the end of October last year, the oldest of the three, who is 11 now, started doing extremely poorly in school along with a few other issues.
I made the decision then that I was going to have to put this site on hold while we focused on helping him out and getting everything in our family in order.
Here we are, over five months later, and work is still super busy (in the middle of a major project migrating all our SharePoint 2007 content to SharePoint 2013) and the situation with our son hasn’t improved.
As I wrote earlier, I learned some things about myself while I was actively updating this site. The biggest thing I learned is that I’m much more efficient at writing than at speaking. That translates into the fact that I should be blogging, not podcasting.
Where Do I Go From Here?
Technology will always be my passion. I’m setting up a new blog that will just be a personal blog focusing on computer technology, programming, web development, and general “geek” topics. You may also find pictures and posts about my garden, kids, home projects, etc. but the focus will always be technology. The new site can be found at:

I would love it if any of my former subscribers visited my new site and left me a comment. I’m planning on putting up three of four posts a week. That shouldn’t be too difficult since I can post work stuff in addition to personal stuff.
I’m also taking down all my online accounts related to this site. That includes Facebook, Twitter and Google+. My new blog will have links to my personal Twitter and Google+ accounts.
I’ll be leaving this site up through about the end of this month as I’ve already paid for it but it will then disappear into obscurity. It was fun while it lasted.
Thanks so much for reading and for all the comments and subscriptions from my past fans!
